e-STORM; e-Science Technical OpeRations Meetings

e-STORM

This proposal is designed to coordinate activities within the e-Science Core Programme·For the experience of the early-adopters (notably, but not exclusively, the particle physicists) to be propagated through the programme; for leverage of activities, connections, experience and outputs from one part of the programme to another; to avoid the unnecessary repetition of work (“reinvention of wheels”); to look for generic issues and requirements across various application areas (e.g. Database access/integration issues are key to Astronomers, Bioinformaticians, Medical Informaticians, Earth Scientists, etc etc); to disseminate the findings of the Core Programme’s advisory bodies (Architectural Task Force, Database Task Force, Engineering Task Force, Security Task Force etc); and to inform these groups of activities of the programme in a synergistic manner; to publicise future Core Programme activities across the whole programme; to inform the UK e-Science Community of International e-Science activities.
