e-Science Solutions for: Efficient Grid Hosting Environments

This project will investigate some of the key issues involved in developing commercially viable Grid hosting environments, focussing on two main components: 1. Detailed stochastic modelling will be used to determine strategies for maximising efficiency in generic hosting environments . Key requirements for maximising efficiency will be identified, and strategies to address those requirements evaluated. 2. Grid middleware will be developed to demonstrate the legitimacy of the models in a Grid computing environment and to provide a basis for future work in developing commercially viable (efficient) hosting environments.
