CONOISE-G: Constraint-Oriented Negotiation in an Open Information Services Environment (Grid)


In CONOISE we are investigating different ways in which the agents can negotiate to form a virtual organisation, how they bid to be included in a virtual organisation, what happens when an agent leaves a consortium or has to be replaced and how to utilise quality measures in this process. This involves the development of an ontology of quality characteristics, which can be used to determine the features important to a user and their weightings. These terms are used to assess the historical performance of agents and to store this information so that it can be used in the contract awarding process. Thus we are currently investigating situations where multiple agents reside in a distributed environment consisting of heterogeneous platforms which provide data/information and resources
