The TIES Project (Technologies for Information Environment Security) is being funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee of the higher and further education funding councils, as part of its Authentication and Authorisation programme designed to give the UK education community experience of the emerging technologies in the authentication and authorisation area, based on open vendor-independent standards.
