VIDGRID: Distributed Video Analysis with Grid Technologies

The aim of this project it to create a software demonstrator showing the potential of GRID technologies to support and extend existing practices in video analysis. The key objectives are: (i) to deliver a working demonstrator which supports video analysis over Grid infrastructures; (ii) to generate a set of requirements for supporting video analysis across distributed teams; (iii) to provide an assessment of the requirements of distributed video analysis application through a series of consultations, interviews and studies of co-located video analysis; (iv) to provide a pilot analysis of the key difficulties associated with distributed video analysis over the Grid using a video analysis approach as an exemplar; (v) to deliver a pilot analysis of the demonstrator in use, through studies of video analysis sessions conducted between the project partners.
