Combined EScience Data Analysis Resource for High Energy Physics

CEDAR

http://www.cedar.ac.uk

We propose an e-Science resource for particle physics which combines the strenghts of the well established and widely used HEPDATA library of high energy physics data and the innovative JetWeb data comparison faciility, and which exploits developing computing grid technology. The resource will be UK-led but international in impact, providing grid-and web-based access to archives of measurements made at existing and past experments and to calculations and phenomenological models of relevance to high energy physics. It will also provide easy, automatic comparisons between them. Such a facility is needed to ensure that measurements at the LHC and beyond make full use of our existing and future understanding of particle physics and thus achieve their full potential. It may alsoserve as a proof of concept for similar facilities outside of particle physics.
