Co-ordination, integration and distribution of sequence and structural family data

The major goal of the partners in this proposal is to classify and relate sequences and structures. In this proposal we will bridge the gap between sequence and structural information to improve access and utility of this data for biologists. By investigating new distributed computing technologies we will co-ordinate and integrate information from five existing databases (SCOP, CATH, EMSD, PFAM, and Interpro) allowing researchers from the UK and around the world to increase the pace of their basic research. By extending the functional annotations associated with these integrated resources we will greatly facilitate genome annotation.
