e-Science Solutions for the Analysis of Complex Systems

This project will: 1. Develop analysis tools that determine vulnerabilities in complex networks by identifying nodes, connections and combinations of these, whose function and relative position in the network render them important to network integrity. 2. Apply and evaluate these tools for in-silico experimentation in two specific domains: Drug target discovery & The design of optimally attack- and failure-resistant information networks. 3. Develop software to facilitate data interchange between heterogeneous databases and the analysis tools. 4. Exploit the Grid for data access and the scheduling of compute-intensive analyses
