Mouse Atlas Database

Mouse Atlas

MRC has funded development of the mouse atlas database for many years through a collaboration involving direct support to Drs Baldock and Davidson at the MRC Human Genetics Unit and indirect support to Drs Bard and Kaufman at the University of Edinburgh. The Atlas comprises a 3D reconstruction of the mouse embryo; its utility is being extended by overlaying the structural data with gene expression data and using grid infrastructure and middleware to extend interactive and collaborative working. The model is being emulated for other organisms and human. The core e-science programme provided some support for this aspect of the work and MRC has now provided an additional 3yr post doctoral position to complete it.
