Abstract: In this paper we describe the use of myGrid middleware services to create and manage the information from running bioinformatics experiments in a semantically enriched Grid aware environment. Through the use of workflows using myGrid components for mapping the complex genomic region associated with the sporadically occurring genetic disorder Williams-Beuren Syndrome, scientists have not only produced biologically interesting results, but also dramatically improved their productivity by undertaking repetitive tasks significantly faster and with an increased diligence compared to previous manual undertakings.
