Abstract: The eFamily project pursues the goal of improving the integration of protein sequence and structure data. A key technology used to achieve this is the Distributed Annotation System (DAS), a communication protocol used to exchange biological annotations. DAS is motivated by the idea that annotations should be provided by independent decentralised databases.
