Abstract: A collaboration in grid computing which led to the largest simulations involving Einstein's General Relativity equations to date occurred in 2001. The significance of this is that the proof of the existence of gravitational waves is a major challenge in theoretical and experimental physics and truly exact computations of these waves are still not fully possible due to insufficient computational power.
