Abstract: The IST Programme focusses on cutting edge technologies which integrate computers and networks into a universal framework offering a multitude of services. For 2002 some of the specific objectives of the IST Workprogramme include: development and testing of GRID technologies; to take-up activities in e-commerce, e-work and security and privacy and Network management, interoperable networks and distributed systems.
