Abstract: A new Bioinformatics Research Centre (BIRC), with considerable computing resources, is being built in Singapore and will eventually connect to the BioMecdical Grid and other research areas. The general infrastructure will sit around a supercomputer which will become one of the top 80 supercomputers in the world.
