The Smart Spaces theme will explore exploitable links between Smart Spaces and smart personal systems. The theme workshops will use novel recording methods and make use of social media to investigate interactions between physical spaces and personal digital technologies, and propose innovative ways to ’mashup’ the two worlds. The proceedings will be published in an open access journal and material will be assembled for a Blue Book that will include best practices. AimThis theme aims to examine the potential for exploiting interactions between Smart Spaces in the physical world and smart personal systems, both hardware and software. The overall objective is to explore and define best practice for enhancing the value of links between the physical and digital worlds. Web 2.0 style mashups will be one area to be considered. The workshops will focus on three specific Smart Space environments: meeting, teaching, and research.
