Information for Participants

There will be insufficient work stations for hands on work at NeSC due to the large demand for Monday and Tuesday's courses. We are sorry we do not have more resources.

Therefore, if you can it would be very helpful if you could bring a laptop. It is best if it can be used via wireless LAN.

If you are bringing a lap top, the following information could be used to preload relevant software to save time during the training days.

If you are running linux, you can easily get everything you need by installing the Virtual Data Toolkit (VDT). Here are the instructions for doing so:

For windows laptops, you won't be able to use the VDT, Globus, or Condor-G. Instead you should just install regular Condor version 6.6.6 which you can download here:

A supply of Globus certificates for machines and users, plus a globus gatekeeper will be provided.

Enquiries should be made directly to our Conference Administrator.
