The JISC is pleased to announce a workshop to highlight Middleware and Security developments within the Information Environment and GRID communities, as supported by its Core Middleware Programmes http://www.jisc.ac.uk/programme_middleware.

Within the past year there have been significant developments in both areas and it is important that these communities work together to provide the best solutions for users. This workshop, with leading speakers from both the interest areas, will examine these developments and look for a harmonised way forward.

The speakers from our academic community and from the USA will examine the broad strategies for Shibboleth and Globus in the morning and will use the afternoon for in depth studies of early adopters and experiences.
