The workshop aims

  • To bring together:
    • Geoinformatics researchers
    • Geoscience data providers
    • Semantic web researchers
  • To cover the topics of:
    • geoscience ontologies and language
    • shared geoscience data models
    • developments in the semantic web and GRID technology relevant to geoscience
    • geoscience web services
  • With the objective of:
  • extending knowledge of geoinformatics in Europe
  • developing partnerships for geoinformatics collaboration

Target Audience

This event is mainly intended for geoscientists involved in geoinformation and also for researchers in geospatial semantics and geoinformatics more generally.

Programme

This event is provisionally scheduled to start at 09:00 Wednesday 07 March 2007 and close at 16:30 on Friday 09 March 2007.

The Workshop will not be publishing papers but contributors may be interested in the 'Call for Papers' for a special issue of Computers & Geosciences covering closely related topics.

A dinner is being held in The George Hotel on the 08 March at 19:30. There will be a small charge to attend the dinner of £30.00. If you would like to attend the dinner please make payment.
