Performance, being ephemeral, raises record-keeping challenges that directly affect future scholarship in, and interpretation of, Performing Arts. E-Science technology has the capability to provide innovative new solutions to address issues related to the creation and use of Performing Arts records. This 3-day workshop will consider how representations of the Performing Arts are/can be created and used in the Information Society, and how e-Science can support their creation, access, and use in meaningful and innovative ways. Major themes include:
Target AudienceAcademics in any area of Performing Arts, Ephemeral Visual Arts, and e-Science. Archivists or curators with an interest in Performing Arts collections, e-Science developers or technical developers for the Arts, Performers and artists. ProgrammeThis event is provisionally scheduled to start at 10:00 Wednesday 18 July 2007 and close at 15:30 on Friday 20 July 2007. On the first evening (18 July) there will be an outing to see Beauty and the Beast at the Playhouse Theatre at 7:30pm. On the evening of the 19th there will be a dinner in the George Hotel at 7:30pm.
