This meeting aims to engage OMII-UK staff, software developers, architects and users to come up with collaborative solutions, or approaches, to problems of interest to the e-Research community. Participants are encouraged to register well focused topics with requirements, if any, for discussion with short descriptions at:
Registered attendees can indicate which of the topics listed on this page are of interest to them. On the day, break out groups will be scheduled to come up with solutions for topics via: discussion, writing of software or by trying to deploy existing components to work together. Topics will be examined for as long as required within the duration of the meeting (or beyond) - it is up to the group members to judge when an adequate conclusions has been drawn. There will be regular reporting to the other attendees summarising what has been achieved up to that point, what is to be done next or whether a topic has been exhausted. Once a topic has been discussed the group will migrate to a new topic or disband and join other groups after writing up a set of summary slides enumerating outcomes and possible future work (if any). This format has been successfully used at previous OMII-UK staff meetings. These have been found to be productive for generating new ideas, requirements, solutions and, in general, constructively exploring the e-Research space. We have found that inviting externals to previous meetings have provided valuable input and they, in turn, have found these meetings to be very productive hence we are opening up the meeting to all interested parties. Target AudienceThis meeting is intended for any interested parties in e-Research from users to developers to architects. ProgrammeThis event is provisionally scheduled to start at 09:30 Thursday 30 April 2009 and close at 16:00 on Friday 01 May 2009. A dinner is being held in Hotel du Vin on the 30 April at 19:30
