This is the kick-off meeting for the theme - "The Influence and Impact of Web 2.0 on e-Research Infrastructure, Applications and Users" Target AudienceWe wish to engage the e-Science, and e-Research community, as well as those in the arts and humanities, and other researchers who have not been funded under the e-Science Programme. ProgrammeThis event is provisionally scheduled to start at 09:30 Wednesday 13 May 2009 and close at 17:00 on Thursday 14 May 2009. Wednesday 13th May 2009 1000-1030 – General overview of aims and objectives of theme. 1030 – 1300 – User/Usability – a general discussion and debate about the areas that we want to pursue and focus on, and the outcomes from these activities. 1300 – 1400 – Lunch 1400 - 1530 - User/Usability – a further debate and discussion. 1530 – 1700 – Applications – a general discussion about the types of applications that we should target, and how we will potentially test them (it may be possible to create a test bed to assesses these applications).
Thursday 14th May 2009 1000 – 1030 – General discussion of previous thoughts/ideas and further thoughts on the activities we have so far chosen. 1030 – 1200 – Further discussion on applications 1200 – 1300 – Services – a choice of services, ranging from Clouds, virtualisation, security, and mash-ups, how we can assess these systems, and the outcomes from this part of the theme. 1300 – 1400 – Lunch 1400 – 1530 – Services – Further discussion and debate about services. 1530 – 1600 – Wrap up discussion – dates of workshop and other activities.
