Eligable GridNet2 applicants will normally be working at or for a UK academic or research institution.

  • They will already have or be planning to make a long-term commitment to helping develop one or more relevant standards.
  • They will have experience, skills and knowledge that will be of value in developing good standards.
  • They will be concerned that standards should be appropriate for the larger UK research needs, e.g. for a national e-Infrastructure.
  • They may be in a group established by the e-Science Core Programme or any similar groups established in the future.
  • They may be members of pilot or demonstrators projects established by research councils, DTI Innovation Fund or the Core Programme Directorate.
  • They may be pioneering, creating or operating multi-national, national, regional or local e-Infrastructure.
  • They may be UK computing science researchers working on Grid-related research.
  • They may be UK software developers developing and exploiting Grid technology.
  • They may be application experts in any field who are committing their expertise to ensuring their domain's requirements are well understood by a standards developers.
