Biography and Research Interests
Konstantinos Karasavvas is a researcher at the University of Edinburgh working on the OGSA-DAI project. His role as an architect involves investigating new areas of interest, prototyping them and publishing the results.
After graduating with a Diploma in Computer Science (Pythagoras Institute V.T.) Kostas worked in industry as a web developer in Greece. He later completed with distinction his MSc course in Distributed Multimedia and Information Systems (Heriot Watt University, Scotland) and went on to work in Norway as a distributed application designer/developer. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Heriot Watt University while working as a Lecturer/laboratory assistant there as well as a database engineer in the Human Genetics Unit, MRC, Scotland. He joined NeSC in June 2004.
His research interests are on Service-Oriented Architectures (e.g. Grid/Web services and Multi-Agent Systems) and data integration technologies.
