Scotland and America advancing e-Science Conference Postponed In light of the current international situation, the uncertainties arising as a result of that and the heightened risk of terrorist attacks worldwide, the Royal Society of Edinburgh has postponed, until a later date, its e-Science Conference due to be held on 2 April. We regret having to do so, but in the circumstances believe it to be the correct decision

 'Scotland and America: Advancing e-Science' to form part of the Tartan Day celebrations in Boston, USA, April 2003.The Royal Society of Edinburgh, in partnership with The Scottish Executive, Scottish Development International, The Scottish Parliament and the National e-Science Centre, has organised a one day conference intended to bring together Scottish and American e-Scientists. This is to be held at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge Massachusetts, and will include talks by leading academics in their respectives fields including: Profs Malcolm Atkinson, Geoff Barton, Muffy Calder, Richard Kenway, Andy Lawrence and Andrew Miller for Scotland, and Profs Giuseppina Fabbiano, Ian Foster and Miron Livny from the United States. The Rt Hon Sir David Steel will be presiding over part of the event.
